In-Mold-Skinning (IMS)
Compact, flexible outer skin for flexible foam and integral skin foam elements.
In-Mold-Skinning by skin-spray. PVC is meanwhile inattractive as a leather imitation, because of fogging and recycling problems.
PU-skinning is the alternative.
For large sized parts in smaller series, it is too expensive to manufacture a multiple mold for the skinjection-technology.
But why not spraying? First a UV-resistant aliphatic PU-painting will be sprayed in the mold. Then we spray a thin skinning system as flexible compact cover behind. As a third step, the flexible foam will be poured in. Then we close the mold. This gives an excellent resistant skin and a perfect adhesion between skin and foam.
