Abrasion protection
for steel buckets, slides, funnels etc.
Abrasion-protective and jointsealing in one:
Knife blades, instruments and many other small steel parts are deburred in centrifugal grinding machines. Where they rotate in buckets filled with ceramic granulate in different geometries.
The abrasion in the steel buckets is an enormeous one. A german manufacturer of such centrifugal grinding machines is covering the buckets and chutles, with a Polyurethane abrasion protection coating by jointless spraying. The results is a multiplied lifetime of these parts.
Similar coating systems have been used for the covering and sealing of conveying chutes and hoppers of a slag-ashes disposal system. The aggressive slag would have destroied the supporting steel in a very short time by chemical corrosion. This is absolutely avoided by the covering with PU. Means PU is used in that case as: abrasion-protective, corrosion protective and as an assembling-joint-sealer.
To get a constant thickness, the systems have to be sprayed with a low output. This makes it even easyer to adapt to the difficult geometries.
